Q: When can I claim for Out of Pocket Expenses?
A: Out of pocket expenses are those additional costs incurred when sourcing products for supply on prescription. This can include costs such as phone calls to suppliers to order products or delivery costs from manufacturers.
These costs will be reimbursed when obtaining products listed in certain sections of the Drug Tariff.
It is important for the pharmacy to keep an audit trail, in case evidence is ever requested by the Pricing Authority to support the claim.
OOP can only be claimed for certain items:

| All unlicensed specials and imports* | Readily available medicinal products outside of Part VIIIA (including ACBS) |
| Part IXR | Part IXB |
| Part IXA | Part IXC |
